Qantas Founders Museum CEO Tony Martin said the Fly In was a great way for aviators and aviation enthusiasts to enjoy a weekend in Longreach.

“The Celebration of the Qantas Centenary Fly In is a great opportunity for pilots and aviation enthusiasts to visit our region and learn about the history of Qantas while enjoying some of the great tourism experiences in town,” Mr Martin said.

“If you have been meaning to visit Longreach, there is no better time than to visit us for the centenary of Qantas.”

The Celebration of the Qantas Centenary Fly In will begin with Qantas Founders Museum’s spectacular Light and Sound Show followed by canapes and a two course dinner in the Museum’s Main Exhibition Hall on Friday night.

On Saturday, guests will enjoy a morning in Longreach’s main street before a visit to the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame.  Late afternoon they’ll experience the award-winning Drover’s Sunset Cruise and Smithy’s Outback Dinner and Show with Outback Aussie Tours.

The weekend finishes with a breakfast at Qantas Founders Museum, before exploring the Museum and going on an aircraft tour of the Boeing 747, Boeing 707, DC3 and Super Constellation.
