Welcome to the Qantas Founders Museum
We are an independent not-for-profit community organization and registered charity, operating since 1996, to commemorate the ethos and preserve the material heritage of Qantas Airways Ltd.
COVID- 19 UPDATE
Qantas Founders Museum made the difficult decision to close its doors as of 4pm Tuesday 24 March 2020 until further notice for the safety of our staff, visitors and community.
This decision was made following the Prime Minister’s announcements on 22 March 2020 of additional action to support social distancing measures and advice for all non-essential services and businesses to close in order to minimise the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. For more info click here.
With the announcement of the Queensland Premier on Sunday 31 May 2020, to lift travel restrictions in Queensland for Queenslanders, our Museum is now working on how and when we can open our Museum safely for our visitors and staff. We hope to make an announcement about when our Museum will reopen in the next few weeks on our website and social media channels.
AIRPARK ROOF PROJECT
Qantas Founders Museum’s Airpark Roof Project is an ambitious $14.3 million two stage project to create a unique night experience using a sound and light show projected on the fuselage of the iconic Boeing 747, Boeing 707 and an 8072m2 roof.
