Qantas Founders Museum made the difficult decision to close its doors as of 4pm Tuesday 24 March 2020 until further notice for the safety of our staff, visitors and community. This decision was made following the Prime Minister’s announcements on 22 March 2020 of additional action to support social distancing measures and advice for all non-essential services and businesses to close in order to minimise the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the announcement of the Queensland Premier on Sunday 31 May 2020, to lift travel restrictions in Queensland for Queenslanders, we wish to advise Qantas Founders Museum WILL REOPEN ON 1 July 2020. We will provide information about our operating hours and how to book to visit the Museum and experience our aircraft tours, as soon as possible.

Over the next few weeks our team will be working hard to complete the final work on our Airpark Roof and Luminescent Longreach light show projects, which were impacted by the COVID-19 travel restrictions, to ensure our visitors can enjoy our aircraft tours which will include the new Super Constellation Display and our state of the art, one of a kind new light and sound Luminescent Longreach night experience, when they visit.

We thank you for your patience and support and look forward to welcoming you to our Museum.

Once we are able to open our Museum, we will be offering a variety of experiences with limited visitor numbers. Please see the details below.
