Celebrating Extraordinary Women "In Her Name" Touring Exhibition Comes to Longreach

WOW – Women of the World Australia in partnership with Qantas Founders Museum, is proud to present "In Her Name," an inspiring exhibition celebrating the remarkable contributions of women and girls from across Queensland. Supported by the Queensland Government, this exhibition will be on display at Qantas Founders Museum in Longreach from November 15. The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to engage with the powerful images and narratives of over 50 extraordinary women and girls identified by their community for their leadership or huge personal contribution they have made.

About the Exhibition:

Women may not be highly visible in many formal positions of power, but in fact, they exercise extraordinary leadership in a myriad of ways and places throughout our State.

"In Her Name" pays tribute to women and girls from various locations where the WOW - Women of the World Festivals and events have been held over the past four years, including Biloela, Charleville, Cairns, Logan, Brisbane, and here in Longreach.

Originally curated by Jody Haines, the exhibition showcases the stories of women identified by their communities for their leadership and personal contributions. These stories highlight the often-unseen leadership roles women occupy and the profound influence they have in shaping their communities.  The exhibition features photography by artists Cristina Bevilacqua, Tatenda Dhobha, Amy Holcombe, Katrina Lehmann, Mana Salsali and Catrina Stevens.
